Keep on Running
I haven’t updated in a while, but I’ve had a good reason for it. I actually wrote fairly long update a couple weeks ago, but decided not to post it because after rereading it I decided it was a bit more personal than I was comfortable posting here. I have some spare time today since it’s the first ever Christmas I don’t have my kids here in the morning. So I decided I would get something up before I go pick them up.
I’ve discovered that I can’t seem to run good in two things at once. In the last week I’ve had one of my most profitable runs ever at the poker tables despite making the worst laydown in a huge pot I ever have, on the flip side other things aren’t going as smoothly. I’ve spent a lot of time reading up on people who are successful at various things, and a lot of them discuss having a good balance. This is what seems to be what I struggle with at times. Maybe it’s just coincidence that the unhappier I am the better I seem to do at poker, I’d like to think it is, but my sample size over the last 6 months seems to indicate otherwise. I”ll keep working on it… I”ll keep on running because that’s all I can do.
